1. Analyze and obtain software requirements by communicating with those who will be using the software, including, managers, executive staff and other stakeholders. Identify the assets within the business, such as customers, services, products and computer assets.

2. Determine the features and functions the software will need to have, such as asset and inventory tracking, barcoding and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tracking, reporting and analysis, asset valuation, and contracts management.

3. Design and build a business activity model using data flow diagrams to show how information will be processed. Design a database model outlining how data will be stored. Construct modules and allocate them to the specific development team members.

4. Test the system and gain feedback from end-users. Fix bugs and adjust functions to cater to the requirements. Deliver the final version.
