Always check connections before trying other troubleshooting options.

The Aspire 4720Z is a notebook computer made by Acer. There are several possible reasons the computer may not be powering on: the connections may be loose or damaged; the AC adapter or power cord may no longer be functioning; the battery may be defective or no longer working; or the battery may need to be reset or recalibrated. If these methods do not solve the issue with your Acer Aspire, contact Acer support for further troubleshooting options.

Instructions

  1. Check Connections

    • 1

Inspect the AC adapter to be certain it is fully connected to the computer. If the connection is loose, contact Acer for repair service (see Resources).

    • 2

Check the AC adapter connection to the power cord. If the cord will not stay connected, there may be a defect in the power cord. Contact Acer for service options or replacement parts.

    • 3

If the adapter is connected to a power strip, make sure the strip is powered on and is fully connected to the wall socket.

    • 4

Connect the adapter to a different electrical outlet if necessary.

    • 5

After verifying all connections, attempt to power the computer on. If the computer does not turn on, try power reset.
