Instructions

    • 1

Measure the distance from one corner of the ceiling to the center. If there is a chandelier or light fixture, use this as a guide for the center location.

    • 2

Add 20 percent to the distance measured from the corner to the center. This will be the length of the fabric swags. The extra length allows for a draping effect.

    • 3

Cut four pieces of fabric to the length determined in the previous step.

    • 4

Place your ladder in the center of the room and bring one piece of gossamer and the staple gun up with you.

    • 5

Hold the end of the gossamer up against the ceiling and staple into place. Since gossamer is so lightweight, you will only need one staple at either end to hold it.

    • 6

Move your ladder to one corner of the room. Gently carry the gossamer that you just stapled to the center over to corner. Ascend the ladder with the end of the gossamer in hand.

    • 7

Staple the gossamer to the ceiling in the corner of the room.

    • 8

Repeat the stapling process for each of the four corners. Once complete, you will have four swags of gossamer draped from the center of the room to the four corners.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are using a rented space, consult with the staff before stapling. If necessary, use double-sided tape instead of staples.
