How to Get the Parking Brake Light to Turn Off in My Buick

Buick makes several vehicles, including the Lucerne, Lacrosse and Enclave. All Buick models have parking lamps. If you leave the exterior lighting switch on after exiting your vehicle, the Buick's battery could drain down. Turn off the parking lamps before exiting the vehicle to prevent this from happening. Turning off the parking lamps is easy once you know where the control knob is.

Instructions

    • 1

Sit in your Buick's driver seat. Inspect the left side of the dash, directly to the left of the steering wheel.

    • 2

Find the exterior lighting knob. This is the circular dial with several labels, including "Auto" and the icon of a lamp.

    • 3

Turn the dial all the way to the left, to highlight the icon that looks similar to an "O." This turns the Buick's parking lamps off.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you turn the dial to "Auto," the parking lamps will automatically turn off 30 seconds after you remove the Buick's key.
