Instructions

Simple Indian Costume for a Kid

1. Cut 2-inch fringing around the sleeves and hems of a brown dress if the costume is for a girl, or a brown shirt and trousers if the costume is for a boy.

2. Thread multicolored beads onto the fringing. Tie a knot at the end to secure the beads in place.

3. Paint Native American Indian patterns onto your child's dress or shirt and trousers using fabric paint. Use print templates from the Internet if you want.

4. 

   Customize the Native American Indian costume with feathers.

   Glue beads, feathers and other embellishments onto your kid's outfit to customize it furthermore.

5. Complete your child's outfit with moccasins and a brown satchel bag.

Make a Native American Headdress

1. To make a headband, cut a strip of colored card approximately 1 ½ inches wide and long enough to go around your child's head.

2. Cut a number of triangles from a different colored card and glue them on the long strip of card.

3. Flip the card over and glue a selection of colored feathers in the center so that they are sticking up vertically.

4. Wrap the headband around the child's head and secure in place with tape.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also sew American Indian patterns onto your child's outfit.

• If your daughter has long hair, plait her hair into two pigtails for added effect.
