How to Make Lady Gaga's Crystal Dress
Lady Gaga is an entertainer with multiple talents. She is a singer, dancer and exhibitionist who has some very eye-catching stage costumes. Lady Gaga was born in New York to an Italian family and began entertaining as a young child. Today, many of her fans want to replicate her unique fashion sense. One of Lady Gaga's common fashions are her crystal dresses. You can make your own Lady Gaga-inspired crystal dress at home in a few steps. It is not difficult, but it is very time-consuming, so making the dress requires some patience.

- Store-bought simple dress
- Poster board
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Spray paint
- Thick coordinating ribbon
- Sewing needle
- Thread

Purchase a simple dress from a store, preferably a tank-top dress or tube dress. It should fit tightly to your natural form but still be comfortable. Try on several dresses at the store until you find the right style and fit for the crystal dress you want to make.

Gather your poster board and cut out four each of various-sized squares, using scissors. Make sure the edges are straight. Various sizes and lengths will produce the varied crystal sizes on Lady Gaga's crystal dress.

Fold your cut-out squares in half so that they form triangles; this will give the crystal's shape. Match up the four of each size of the folded triangles so that all of the sides fit together to form a crystal shape. Glue each of the edges with a hot glue gun. You should now have what looks like a diamond shape with four pointy edges made of poster board. Repeat this step for however many crystals you want to put on your dress.

Spray-paint the crystals in a well-ventilated space. A metallic color will bring authenticity to the crystal dress, but you may use whatever color you like. Allow the poster board crystals to dry completely.

Cut two pieces of wide ribbon with scissors. The first piece should be cut to the length from your shoulder blade to your bustline from over the shoulder. The second piece should be cut to the length from your hip bone down to the bottom of your buttocks. Hot-glue the crystals in varied places on each piece of ribbon using a hot glue gun. Allow the glue to harden completely.

Thread a sewing needle and tie a small knot on the end of the thread. Sew the shoulder ribbon starting at the shoulder blade, and bring it over to the top of the bust. Sew the hip ribbon starting at the top of the hip bone down to the bottom of the buttocks.

Tips & Warnings
Add a pair of funky boots and some large-lensed sunglasses to complete your Lady Gaga crystal dress look.
Always be careful when working with a hot glue gun; wear protective gloves to prevent burns.
The crystals will be fragile and easily crushed, so try not to sit down on the crystals or bump into people or objects while wearing your Lady Gaga crystal dress.
