How to Apply Lion Makeup

A lion's fur uses various shades of brown.

Using makeup, you can decorate your face like a lion. Wear the design with a costume, or for fun. You can customize the lion by using different designs for the fur. For example, use both gray and tan lines to represent an older lion. The lion is the male of the species. Adapt this design to the female lioness by forgoing the mane design discussed in the steps. Top the look off with a pair of costume ears.

Things You'll Need

• Makeup sponges
• Makeup brushes
• Brown, tan, black and white face makeup
• Black eyeliner

Instructions

1. Dip a makeup sponge into the brown makeup. Coat the entire face, except the mouth and eyes, with the brown makeup.

2. Swipe the end of a clean makeup sponge in the tan makeup. Wipe the makeup onto the eyelid. Apply white makeup between the eyelid and brow. Outline your eyes with the black eyeliner and color in both eyebrows.

3. Use another makeup sponge to paint the tip of the nose black. Draw four black lines on either side of the nose to make the lion's whiskers. The whiskers should be about two to three inches long. Draw small dots with the eyeliner around the base of the whiskers.

4. Apply brown makeup to the tip of a sponge. Draw wavy lines all over the face to look like hair for the mane.
