When you enter contacts into your BlackBerry address book, you are essentially creating electronic business cards for each individual. You can enter the name of the company the person works for, a picture or logo, his title, website address, email address, home and business telephone numbers, fax numbers, special notes and much more. From time to time, it may be necessary to send the individual's information to another person. Rather than retyping all of the information, you can easily send it an electronic business card, also known as a “VCard.”
Open the Address Book application on your BlackBerry. Depending upon your customized settings, the address book may appear on the home screen of your device. If not, press the “Berries” button to access the application.
Use your “Trackball” to scroll to the contact, whose business card you would like to send. If you want to send your own business card, you must add your name and other business information to your address book. To do this, press the Berries button. Select “New Contact.”
Press the Berries button when the name of the business card you would like to send is highlighted. Do not press the Trackball to open the card.
Select the option to “Send as Attachment.” This will open a messaging window. Type in the “To” field, he email address you would like to send the business card. The “CC” and “Subject” fields are optional.
Press the “Berries” button. Select “Send” to send the business card.
If you would like to send a business card via text message, instead of email, download and install a special software application onto your phone that will allow you to do so. These software applications can be located through BlackBerry App World. Some apps will cost a fee. Others are free.
