Click on the "Customer support" link. This will take you to the Account Password Recovery page. There are two self-help methods available to recall your Hotmail password before you ask Windows Support for a reset. You are required to attempt both options prior to requesting a reset.

The first self-help method is to attempt to answer your secret question. If you do not recall the answer to your secret question, the second self-help method is to send a password reset to your alternate email. If available select the "Send my reset information to me in e-mail" option. If neither of the self-help methods are viable to recover your account password, click on "Continue." To recover your Hotmail account, you will be asked to complete several additional steps for the Windows Support Team.

Supply a current and valid alternate email address different from the email for the account you are attempting to recover the password. This alternate email will be used by a Windows Support Agent to contact you directly. Through this alternate email address, you will be asked a number of questions about yourself and your Hotmail account. Your answers will be compared to information on hand to confirm you are the account holder. The Windows Support Agent will create a private forum for you that that will contain investigation details and information. You will be provided a temporary access link for the private forum via the alternate contact email address you recently provided. This forum is not a permanent account, but will terminate after 30 days.
