How to Maintain an Electric Razor
Electric shavers offer the convenience of a quick and safe shave, and are rechargeable and reusable. While they come in many styles and shapes, they all employ the same basic mechanism, where a blade or series of blades are spun beneath a porous screen, which hair can pass through. Over time, the screen and blades can wear out, reducing the quality of the cut, and without regular cleaning, the mechanical components can also deteriorate. Remove the screen after each shave. Shaver screens are typically removed by pressing a release button. Check the manual for your particular model for instructions.

Clean the clippings from the blades and any other areas where they can collect with a small brush. If your shaver did not come with a brush, you can use a small paintbrush.

Replace the screen. Turn on the razor and spray a small amount of shaver lubricant through it and onto any other moving parts. Shaver lubricant can be purchased anywhere electric razors are sold.

Replace the blades and screen once every year or sooner if you notice the shaver is cutting less smoothly. Replacement parts are available where razors are sold, and can also be ordered from the manufacturer for models that are out of production.
