1
Provide your boss with as much notice as possible once your interview is scheduled. This will make it easier to prepare for your absence to ensure that business operations are not affected.
-
2
Schedule your interview as early in the morning or late in the afternoon as possible. This allows you to attend the interview while also ensuring that you will be able to work for at least half of the day. This is especially important to hourly, nonexempt workers.

3
Use your lunch break or request an extended lunch break. If you are attending an interview that is close to your current job, you may be able to squeeze this in during your lunch hour. Ask your boss for an extended lunch break in case the interview runs longer than anticipated.

Take a personal day or use vacation time without elaborating on the nature of your appointment. If you are scheduling multiple interviews, schedule them on the same day to make the most of your day off from work.
