How to Record From YouTube to a CD

When listening or watching something on YouTube, you may find yourself wanting to download it and burn it to CD. This is useful if you want to listen to an interview, song, or movie clip when you're in the car or somewhere with a CD player. You can record from YouTube and burn to a CD, using only the programs that are preinstalled on your Windows computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click the "Sound" icon in the bottom right of your screen. Select "Properties."

    • 2

Click the "Recording" tab. Right-click in the list area and choose "Show Disabled Devices." Right-click "Wave Out" or "Stereo Out" -- the wording varies for different sound cards. Click "Enable." Click "OK."

    • 3

Click "Start > Programs > Accessories > Sound Recorder." Open the YouTube file you want to record. Click "Start Recording" in Sound Recorder. Click "Play" in YouTube.

    • 4

Click "Stop Recording" when the video is over. A save window appears. Choose a location for your song to be saved. It will automatically open in Windows Media Player afterward.

    • 5

Insert a blank CD. Click "Burn" in Windows Media Player. Click and drag the file you recorded into the "Burn List." Click "Burn."
