Fill-in-the-blank forms are a way to obtain information you need.

Having fill-in-the-blank forms at the touch of a print button is an easier and more cost-effective way for many businesses to collect the information they need. The form is created, saved onto the computer and printed as needed. As business needs change, updates can be made to the form at a moment's notice and without waste.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a word processor and click on new document. You can create a simple or more advanced form, depending on the word processor you are using.

    • 2

Decide what information you will collect from the individual and begin entering it onto the form; name, date of birth and sex are examples.

    • 3

After setting up information categories you'll need, create the field where the person will fill in the blank. For a simple word processor such as Microsoft's Notepad, hold down the shift key while holding the underline key next to the zero key; this will create a line where the requested information can be filled in. This simple method can also be used in Microsoft Word. However, you can also use other methods in Word such as check boxes and drop-down menus. To accomplish this, click on "Forms" on your toolbar; you may have to go to "add or remove buttons" and then click customize to find it. On the Forms bar, choose your fill-in field and click on it.

Choose a file name and save it. It is best to have a folder on your computer specifically for all of your forms for quick reference.
