Amazon introduced the Kindle in November 2007. The device makes it possible to download and read any ebook, newspaper or magazine available in an electronic format. A Kindle can hold up to 35,000 ebooks. To get through all those pages, you need a fully charged battery.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the supplied USB cord to the Kindle. The USB port is located on the bottom on the Kindle.

    • 2

Attach the other end of the USB cord to the power adapter. Not all Kindles come with a supplied power adapter. If your Kindle does not have a power adapter, the USB cord can be directly connected to a computer to charge.

    • 3

Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet. A charge indicator light is located on the bottom of the Kindle. When the Kindle is connected to a power source, and is not fully charged, the light will be yellow. When the Kindle is fully charged, the light will turn green.
