How to Block Audio Pop-ups

The Web is full of advertisements on Web pages and in the form of pop-ups. These pop-ups appear automatically as you are browsing and can be extremely annoying, as well as take up a lot of system resources. Pop-up ads, at times, come with an audio component that tells you to go buy a product or surf to a website. You can easily turn these off by disabling pop-ups in your browser.

Instructions

Internet Explorer

1. Launch your Internet Explorer.

2. Click "Tools" in the main menu bar and choose "Pop-up Blocker."

3. Select "Turn On Pop-up Blocker." Restart your browser.

Firefox

1. Launch your Firefox browser.

2. Click "Tools" in the main menu bar. Select "Options."

3. Click the "Content" tab. Put a check mark in the box next to "Block pop-up windows." Select the "OK" button. Restart your browser.
