How to Track Royal Mail Parcels

Track your parcels with the Royal Mail website.

The Royal Mail is responsible for shipping parcels throughout the United Kingdom. If you would like to track the status of a parcel, use the Track & Trace service on the Royal Mail's website. This service is only available for items shipped within the U.K.; it cannot track parcels sent to the U.K. from overseas. If you would like to track parcels that you send abroad, sign up for either the Airsure or International Signed For service when you ship your parcel. The latter option only tracks items to the border, while the former option tracks items to the destination.

Instructions

1. Go to the main website of the Royal Mail. Select the option that best applies to you: "Personal Customers," "Small & Medium Business" or "Corporate & Public Sector."

2. Locate the "Tools" section on the next web page. Click on a link labeled either "Tracking" or "Track & Trace."

3. Locate your reference number. On most parcel labels, this 13-digit number is either at the bottom of the label or underneath a barcode. If you have trouble finding it, click on "How to find your reference number" underneath the reference number field.

4. Enter the reference number in the field and click "Track."

5. Read the display that shows you where your parcel is and its estimated delivery date.
