A new iPhone can make you feel as if you are all thumbs when it comes to navigating its options and features. If you are not familiar with it, at first glance it seems complicated, but once you develop new pathways in your brain you will be set. To add an exchange calendar from work or home, you will need to configure Microsoft Exchange on your iPhone. This option not only gives you the calendar, but links to your Exchange email account and contacts as well, if desired. To get the calendar, you have to set up an Exchange ActiveSync account first.

Step 1

Locate the "Settings" icon on the first screen of your iPhone and tap it. This feature takes you into several options that allow you to personalize your iPhone.

Step 2

Lightly drag your finger up the screen until you see "Mail, Contacts, Calendars," just beneath the "iCloud" option. Select the option for calendar by tapping it gently. The iPhone goes to a screen for configuring your mail accounts or to add new accounts.

Step 3

Tap the "Add Accounts" menu selection on the screen.

Step 4

Touch the "Microsoft Exchange" option that appears on the screen.

Step 5

Add your Microsoft Exchange e-mail address in the space provided. You can optionally add the domain name, but you have to type in your username, password and description of the Exchange Account. Touch the "Next" button at the top of the screen.

Step 6

Wait as your iPhone searches for your Exchange server. If it cannot locate it, you will need to type it in manually. The server name might look like this: "exchange.companyname.com." If you don't know the complete name, ask your network administrator for it.

Step 7

Fill out the rest of the information required, including: "Domain," "Username," "Password" and "Description." In the description, you can just add your email address again, if desired. Ask your network administrator for the domain information if you don't have that. Hit "Next" at the top of the screen when you have finished.

Step 8

Select the content you want to synchronize by sliding the button from "Off" to "On" with your finger. If you only want the "Calendar" synchronized, just turn that item on. Do not turn on "Contacts" or "Mail."
