How to Disable a Theft Deterrent on a Gateway Monitor
The Gateway Theft Deterrent system is utilized to help protect the Gateway monitor from being stolen. When it is enabled, it displays a screen that states it is protected by the Gateway Theft Deterrent system if it is connected to another computer. If you connect the monitor to another computer without disabling the theft deterrent system, call Gateway customer service to ask for a code to disable it (which usually incurs a fee).

Launch the EZ Tune application from the location it is saved on the computer.

Click "Plug-Ins," then "Theft Deterrence."

Click "Disable Theft" on the lower right of the screen.

Enter the pin for the monitor when prompted. Click "Accept" to proceed.
