How to Bypass a PT Cruiser Factory Key Antitheft System

Chrysler's PT Cruiser comes equipped with a vehicle security alarm that will sound for approximately 18 minutes if triggered. The first three minutes of the alarm sounds the horn. The headlights, tailgate lights and park lights will also blink for the entire 18 minutes. If you want to bypass this alarm and avoid triggering it upon entrance into your vehicle, you can temporarily disarm the alarm. Disarming the alarm does not require any mechanical or electrical skills.

Instructions

    • 1

Park your vehicle and remove the key from the ignition. Remove all of your valuables from your vehicle since your alarm will be disarmed.

    • 2

Open your vehicle's door and push the door lock on the door's panel. This process manually locks your vehicle. Make sure that all of the other door locks in your vehicle are locked as well.

    • 3

Step out of the vehicle and close the door behind you. Your vehicle's antitheft alarm system is now disarmed.
