How to Create an MSN ID
An MSN ID refers to the email address and password that you can use to sign into any MSN service, including MSN Hotmail, MSN Messenger, MSN Music, SkyDrive, Xbox LIVE, Zune, and Official Live. This ID is also referred to as a Windows Live ID. There are two ways to create an MSN ID: by creating a Hotmail account or using your existing email account. (See Reference 1)

Create a Hotmail Account

Go to the Windows Live ID homepage. (See Reference).

Click "Get Started Now" under "Sign up for a free MSN Hotmail account."

Fill out your country information, desired email address, password and account information. Click "I accept." Your email address and password is now your MSN ID and you can use it to sign into any MSN Service.
Existing Email Account

Go to the Windows Live ID homepage. (See Reference).

Click "Get Started Now" under "Use an email address you already have."

Type your existing email address into the "Email address" field. For example, you can use your Gmail or Yahoo account.

Choose a "Security" question and answer, type the verification, and click "Continue."

Re-type your password to accept the Windows Live ID terms and click "I accept." Your existing email address is now your MSN ID and you can use it to sign into any MSN Service.
