Instructions

Charge the battery for more than 16 hours, with the power switch in the "off" position. The vacuum comes with a charging base that must be plugged in and can be attached to the wall or positioned on a counter or work surface. The unit should remain in the base when not in use.

Adjust the nozzle and attach any necessary accessories. Remove the vacuum from the base, press the pivot lock button and move the nozzle to the desired position. A button located on the nozzle can be depressed to extend the nozzle if needed. A crevice tool and brush tool are included with the vacuum and can be used for cleaning small spaces, carpeting or upholstery. These accessories can be installed by simply inserting them into the end of the nozzle.

Switch the unit on. The PHV1800 has two cleaning speeds. Putting the switch at the first position causes the unit to operate at a slower speed with less suction, but with extended battery life. Placing the switch in the second position allows the unit to run at high speeds when more suction is necessary.

Clean the vacuum's dust container and filters. After using the vacuum, all dust and dirt must be emptied in order to keep the unit in good working order. To access the dust container and filters, press the release latch on the side of the unit, near the front of the circular door. This allows the door to open, revealing the filters. Twist the filters counterclockwise until they are able to be removed from the unit. The dust container cannot be removed from the vacuum, but should be emptied. Remove any loose dust from the filters with a brush and then wash them with warm, soapy water. Dry the filters thoroughly and place them in the unit. Twist them clockwise until they lock in place. Close the circular door and place the vacuum in the charging unit.

Tips & Warnings

  • Install the charging base within reach of an electrical outlet.

  • The vacuum may be left on the charging base indefinitely without damaging the battery.

  • Keep the nozzle free of blockage during operation. It will produce better suction results.

  • Emptying the dust container and brushing loose dust from the filters during larger cleaning jobs will allow the unit to perform more effectively.

  • Because of risk of electrical shock, do not submerge the charging base or vacuum in water.

  • Do not use the vacuum on wet areas or to suck up wet materials or liquid to avoid electrical shock.

  • Do not operate near flammable fumes or liquids.

  • Do not mount the charging base near a heat source or sink.
