Corel Knockout 2 Operating Instructions
Corel KnockOut 2 is a popular software program that allows you to do precision editing on your photos, including removing things that are dubbed "impossible" to remove, such as hair and smoke. This software, which is available for Mac and PC operating systems, gives you a leg-up on standard Photoshop software for your photo editing and effect needs. Corel began producing Knockout when the company acquired the technology from Ultimatte, which was a cinema blue screen company.

Choose the changes you want to make to the photo. For example, if you wish to remove the background in which the subject of the photo is sitting, you would select the "Inside Object" tool and draw a line around the inside edge of the subject without selecting any of the background. Use the "Add to Selection" or "Subtract from Selection" button to fine-tune the selection. Draw another selection around the outside of the subject using the "Outside selection" tool, making sure not to cross into the subject. Click the "Process" button and the background will disappear from the picture.
-
4
Perform your desired edits using the controls on the left and right sides of the screen. You can choose to layer the subject of your photo onto another background using the "Layers" tools on the right side of the screen; use the "Touch up" tools to remove or add any unwanted or lost colors that appeared during processing; or select a backdrop color using the "Underlay" tool.

5
Reverse any mistakes using the "Undo" tool in the "Edit" menu at the top of the screen and save your work periodically. When you are finished, you can save or print the edited picture using the options in the "File" menu at the top of the screen.
