How to Find Unclaimed Funds in Florida
Unclaimed funds can include forgotten bank accounts, refunds from closed utility accounts, insurance payments, and other cash assets from various sources. In most states, unclaimed funds are reported to the department of taxation or finance and held for a certain number of years. In Florida, the state's Department of Financial Services oversees the Bureau of Unclaimed Property. The Bureau runs the Florida Treasure Hunt website, on which you can search for unclaimed funds.
