How to Customize a Salesforce Console
Salesforce is a customer relationship management software that is provided within the enterprise cloud computing platform. Salesforce is provided as a service (SaaS) and hosted offline. Enterprise cloud computing for Salesforce gives it a lot of flexibility, scalability and reliability. In addition, it allows it to be easily customized in real-time to specific business needs which can be done without the need for IT resources. Tabs and other additional features can be set up to user preferences. All of this can be done using clicks only with no coding.

Personal Setup

Log in to the Salesforce interface.

Click on the set up link located at the upper left-hand corner of the interface.

Click on the "Personal Information" link, then select "Change My Display" under that. Select "Customize my Tabs" to configure the tabs. Here you can add or remove the tabs that appear on the top of the page and even change the order they are in. Save the changes when you are done.

Click on "Customize My Pages" under the "Change My Display" section. Here you can change the listing that displays on each page.
App Setup

Click on the "Customize" link under the "App Setup" section.

Select "Contacts", "Page Layout" and make changes to the contact layouts. Change the section orders and customize the different fields. A drag feature is enabled in this section.

Use the "Local Settings" tab to change personal information such as the "Language." These settings will be reflected globally on your interface.

Click on "Create," "Tabs" and then follow the wizard to insert a custom Web tab that displays whatever information about your company you want pulled from the Internet.
Administration Setup

Click on "Manage Users" to make changes to those within your organization. Add, remove and modify user permissions.

Click on "Company Profile" to change company information.

Manage apps, data, email and other forms of communication using the tabs listed on the "Admin" profile. Each tab offers more options that allow editing. When done making changes, click on "Save."

For efficient customization, you need to define and prioritize your requirements before you map them out on Salesforce. Understand key Salesforce terms and come up with a visual process overview that will help you map out what is needed.
Add-ons like "Chatter" allow more functionality to be added to Salesforce by customizing information delivery where project status and deals are automatically pushed to you in real-time. With Chatter you can monitor feeds, get insights from analytics, social networking sites and get apps updates, all in real-time.
