1
Lay a quilted pillow sham back side up on your work surface. Fold over 4 inches on one short end of the pillow sham and pin. Sew the pinned edge to create a casing for your hanging dowel. Lay the pillow sham with the front side up and the casing at the top.

2
Cut around the back pockets on old blue jeans. Cut the fabric on the seat of the jeans, a 1/2 inch from the pockets. The amount of pockets needed will depend on the size of the pockets, size of the pillow sham and how the pockets are arranged.

3
Arrange the pockets on the front of the pillow sham. Pin the 1/2-inch edge surrounding each pocket to the pillow sham. Zigzag stitch over the cut edge of each pocket, all the way around each pocket. Each pocket will become a separate storage space on your fabric organizer.

4
Measure the length of the casing and add 2 inches. Cut a 1/2-inch diameter wood dowel using a jigsaw. Thread the dowel through the casing with 1 inch of the dowel exposed on each end.
-
5
Cut out the double-stitched seam on the inseams of a pair of jeans. Measure and cut two, 22-inch lengths from the seams.
-
6
Wrap an end of one jean seam around one end of the dowel and tie it in a knot. Repeat with the other jean seam on the other end of the dowel. Bring the free ends of the jeans seams together and tie in a knot. This is the hanger for your fabric wall hanging organizer.
