How to Get the Weather on the IE8 Toolbar

Microsoft has created a toolbar for the Internet Explorer Web browser. The toolbar, called the Bing Toolbar, allows users to access Microsoft Hotmail and Rewards, search using the Microsoft Bing search engine, check stocks, and check the local weather. The Bing Toolbar is compatible with versions of Internet Explorer 6 or later.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the Bing Toolbar homepage.

    • 2

      Click "Get Bing Now."

    • 3

Click "Save File" to save the "InstallManager_Bing_Microsoft.exe" file to your desktop.

    • 4

Double-click the ""InstallManager_Bing_Microsoft.exe" on your desktop and follow the prompts to install the Bing Toolbar. You will be asked to restart your Internet Explorer Web browser.

    • 5

Click the "Weather" icon -- usually a picture of clouds or sun -- at the top of the Internet Explorer Web browser. An extended forecast will appear. If you do not see the icon, click the "Toolbar" icon in the top right corner of Internet Explorer, click the "Buttons" tab, check the box next to "Weather" and click "OK."
