Instructions

    • 1

Cut your acoustic foam panels to size using a utility knife. Covering an entire wall with the foam will reduce noise to a minimum. Mounting several panels along the edges and in the corners of shared walls will provide significant noise reduction.

    • 2

Locate the studs within the wall using an electronic stud finder. Lightly mark stud locations with a pencil.

    • 3

Mount the foam panels using an electric drill and 3-inch drywall screws. Drill the screws about halfway in and avoid sinking them, as they will rip through the foam.

    • 4

Repeat the above steps for each shared wall for increased soundproofing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Depending on your leasing agreement, you may be required to notify your landlord before mounting the foam panels. As a courtesy, also notify your neighbors or roommates.

  • For more discreet installation, use tack nails and a small hammer for mounting purposes.

  • Always mount using wall studs. Failure to do so may result in damage to the apartment walls and costly repairs.
