Troubleshoot a malfunctioning phone

The Walkman has come a long way since it began. Once a simple portable device for playing tapes on the go, the Sony Ericsson Walkman line is now a series of mobile phones best-known for their ability to store and play music. Modern Walkmans come with an array of features from headphone jacks to Bluetooth devices, and motion-sensitive controls. A red light that won't stop flashing is a common issue, and usually means the battery needs to be recharged.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the charger that came with your Sony Walkman to the node on the bottom of the phone, and plug the charger into an outlet. Make sure the symbol on the charger faces upwards.

    • 2

Wait for the battery icon to appear. This may take up to 30 minutes.

    • 3

Let the battery recharge for at least two and a half hours. The battery icon will indicate when the phone is fully charged. In the meantime, you can check on the status of the charging by pressing one of the selection keys on your phone to activate the screen.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have not used your batteries in a long time, their capacity may be reduced and they will need to recharge more often the first few times you use them again.

  • The battery can only be recharged in temperatures between 41 degrees Fahrenheit and 113 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Use only the recommended batteries for your phone. Using other brands of batteries and chargers could be dangerous. Do not remove the battery without turning off your phone first.
