How to Stain Exterior Concrete Floors
Concrete flooring easily becomes worn and discolored over time when it is constantly walked over. Staining the concrete is one way to bring it back to life and to give it a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. Things You'll Need
- Hose and water
- Liquid stain
- Stain sprayer
- Spray tip with circular pattern
- Cardboard
- Medium-bristle brush
- Sealant coating
- Paint pan
- Paint roller

Soak the concrete surface with the hose. This will help the concrete absorb the liquid stain more easily, and will also help prevent blotching.

Pour the liquid stain carefully into the sprayer. Follow the instructions correctly and attach the spray tip nozzle to the sprayer.

Test the pressure of the sprayer and the amount of stain that will come out of it, using a piece of cardboard.

Begin spraying the concrete. Start at one corner of the floor, move across horizontally, and then continue moving downward and side to side until the entire floor has been covered. Allow 48 hours for the stain to dry.

Shake the sealant container and pour some of it into the paint pan. Push the roller through it until well-covered.

Roll the sealant across the floor, beginning at the same corner as you did with the stain. Use a medium-bristle brush to paint the sealant onto any hard-to-reach areas.
