How to Do a Soft Smokey Eye

Things You'll Need
- Cream eyeshadow base
- Brown or taupe eyeshadow
- Light pink or nude eyeshadow
- Shimmery pearl or off-white shadow
- Waterproof creamy eyeliner
- All-over eyeshadow brush
- Fine eyeliner brush
- Crease brush
- Blender brush
- Smudge brush
- Cotton swabs

Apply a small amount of eyeshadow base to moisturized, dry lids. Blend it out so that the base is evenly coating the lids up to the brow.

Sparingly apply the mid-toned nude or pink shadow to the entire lid up to the brow using an allover eyeshadow brush.

Apply the brown or taupe eyeshadow to the entire lid up to the crease using the crease brush. At the outer edges, blend in some brown using a cotton swab in a sideways 'V'.

Using the blender brush, blend the crease to soften the edges.

Using the liner brush, line your upper lashline with the cream liner. Line the lower lid with the same liner. Trace over the liner on the bottom using the brown eyeshadow.

Smudge the top eyeliner line, so that it softly fades into your eyelid.

Tips & Warnings
The trick to perfectly smooth eyeshadow is to keep the texture consistent on the eye. Always use an eyeshadow base; the eyeshadow base does an excellent job of absorbing any excess oils on the lid while smoothing the skin on the eye with silicone ingredients.
Use a moisturizer before applying eyeshadow base and wait five minutes for it to fully dry so that the base adheres properly and evenly; this will prevent flaky skin and uneven surface texture.
