How to Apply for a Free Converter Box

After the switch in 2009 from analog to digital broadcasting, owners of analog TVs needed digital-to-analog converter boxes. For a limited time, each household was eligible to request up to two coupons for converter boxes. The last day to apply for a coupon was July 31, 2009. This information is in case of an extension of the program.

Instructions

1. Fill out an application for a converter box coupon online (See Resources). You'll need to provide a mailing address to receive your coupon.

2. Mail or fax a hard copy of the coupon application if you prefer not to fill one out online. (See Resources)

3. Apply for a converter box coupon over the phone by calling 1-888-DTV-2009 (1-888-388-2009).
