1
Exhibit good personal hygiene. Take a shower, comb your hair, trim your fingernails and, most importantly, wear deodorant. Don't cover yourself in cologne or body spray.
-
2
Sport a collared shirt and tuck it in. Iron your shirt and make sure it's clean. Don't wear a rumpled or dirty shirt, no matter how expensive it was.

3
Wear a nice pair of pants that aren't blue jeans. Never wear shorts to a club, unless its an outdoor club or a themed party. Chinos or khakis are comfortable and look nicer than blue jeans.
-
4
Put on a nice pair of shoes. You don't have to wear shiny black wingtips, but don't wear tennis shoes. Some upscale nightclubs have dress codes that don't allow athletic shoes.
-
5
Limit your accessories to a few pieces. Don't cover yourself in jewelry or wear sunglasses at night. A watch and maybe one or two pieces of jewelry are acceptable, but don't overdo it.
