Press the "Power" button on the bottom right corner of the monitor. Wait for the green light to go out and press the "Power" button again.

Check the power light on the computer. The monitor light will blink on and off if the computer it is connected to is powered off.

Disconnect the monitor cable from the back of the computer. Examine the cable for bent pins. A bent pin will prevent the monitor cable from getting a good connection.

Insert a small, flat-head screwdriver between the bent pin and the one next to it. Gently move the screwdriver blade to bend the pin back in place.

Check the cable connection on the LCD monitor. These cables can work themselves loose over time. When the connection is loose the monitor will not detect a signal from the computer, and that loss of signal causes the light to blink.

Reconnect the cable from the computer to the monitor. Tighten the thumbscrews as far as they will go. Shut down the computer and remove the power cord. Then replace the power cord and power the computer back on. This should re-establish the communication between the computer and the Dell LCD monitor.
