How to Remove Bathroom Stall Doors

Bathroom stall doors can be removed with a screwdriver.

Bathroom stall doors provide privacy and discretion when using public restrooms. These doors typically mount on a stall framework made out of powdered metal, stainless steel or plastic. Hinges on the door allow it to swing open and shut and a lock provides privacy. Removing bathroom stall doors, whether for repair or replacement, is fairly simple. If possible, have an assistant on hand to help you keep the bathroom stall door in place while disassembling.

Things You'll Need

• Screwdriver
• Duct tape
• Assistant

Instructions

1. Step inside the stall and close, but do not lock, the door behind you.

2. Loosen the screws holding the back of the door to the hinge at the top. Loosen the screws holding the bottom of the door in the lower hinge.

3. Carefully open the stall door and step outside of the stall. Close the bathroom stall door. Tape it in place with heavy tape, such as duct tape, or have an assistant hold it closed for you.

4. Loosen the screw holding the front of the door in place on the top hinge.

5. Brace the stall door. Remove the screws holding the bottom of the door in the lower hinge.

6. Grab the bathroom stall door by the top. Slowly pull the stall door off the stall opening.
