Older-model Jeeps also have a straight-six.

Jeep introduced the Rubicon in 2003. The Rubicon was a variation of the Wrangler, dubbed the TJ model. The overall nature of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon did not change from prior years, but the vehicle came with definitive upgrades to its performance and operation. The engine still used the standard 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine found in most Jeeps. The engine, called a straight-six or in-line six, has remained mostly unchanged for years---including filter locations.
