Truck wheels and rims are often made out of aluminum, which is sturdy. It is also lightweight, which helps to save on gas. Driving causes wheels and rims to collect dirt and debris. Cleaning your wheels and rims on your truck will help to improve its appearance.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill a bucket with hot water and dish detergent soap. One-quarter of a cup of soap per five gallon bucket is sufficient.

    • 2

Wipe away dirt and debris from the rim with a clean, dry cloth. Soak the cloth in the bucket of soapy water and scrub at the aluminum.

    • 3

Scrub at the aluminum with a stiff nylon brush to get rid of dirt and debris stuck on the tire and rims. The nylon brush is also good for getting into small areas on the wheels.

    • 4

Attach a polish ball attachment to a power drill. The attachment can be found at a home improvement store. Turn on the drill and push the polish ball around the wheel and rims. The ball will help to remove corrosion that hand-scrubbing cannot. The polish ball can also scrub in the wheel's crevices.
