How to Lace Vans Authentics
Vans Authentics are sturdy canvas shoes with rubber soles, popular with skateboarders. Vans are usually worn by teens and adults, most of whom already know how to lace up a shoe, but Vans Authentics shouldn't be laced the normal way. For the best skateboarding performance, you should lace your skate shoes using a variation of the normal shoe lace tying technique. As an alternative, many Vans wearers choose to use the bar tying method to make a fashion statement. Does this Spark an idea?

Classic Tying Method

1
Put one of the shoes on without the laces. Insert a lace through the top eyelets so that the top lace rests perpendicular to the shoe, with the ends of the laces going inside of the shoe. Draw your laces tight.
-
2
Take the right lace of the shoe and cross it over, threading it through the first free eyelet on the left. Make sure to thread it over and through, so the end of the lace goes inside the shoe.

3
Take the left lace of the shoe and cross it over, threading it through the first free eyelet on the right. Again, make sure to thread it over and through, so the end of the lace goes inside the shoe.
-
4
Repeat these steps until the shoe is laced all the way. Tie your shoe normally at the end.
