How to Make a LEGO Homer

Homer Simpson is the popular father character on the television show "The Simpsons," the longest-running television show in history. Making him out of LEGOs will require an understanding of scale modeling, advanced skills in LEGO building, dozens of LEGOs and a picture of Homer to guide you in your building. Starting from the base of his legs and working up to the top of his head will help make sure he doesn't become top heady and tip over.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw your design of Homer Simpson on a piece of paper using your colored pencils. Use the picture of Homer as a guide to finding the appropriate sizes of his body parts. Use your ruler to keep the drawing to scale by dividing the height, length and width of all of his body parts by a consistent factor.

    • 2

Figure out your model dimensions by scaling up from the dimensions on the paper. Write these down and use them as a guide as you build.

    • 3

Use black LEGOs to build Homer's shoes as a base using your picture of Homer as a guide during the whole building process. The ruler should be used as you build to make sure each part fits to the correct dimensions.

    • 4

Use blue blocks to build his pants and legs. Widen and deepen the legs as you reach his stomach area to create his beer belly. Refrain from making it too top heavy to avoid tipping the model over.

    • 5

Build a shirt using white LEGOs to cover the rest of his belly, torso and sleeves. Make sure the top of his body narrows down at the neck. Create a "v" at the top front of his shirt in front of his neck.

    • 6

Build his head and arms using yellow LEGOs. The head should be oval shaped and includes ears, a nose and eyes. Use white and black LEGOs to complete his eyes and brown LEGOs to create the five o'clock shadow around his mouth. Use black LEGOs to create the hair strands on the top and side of his head. Adjust his facial features until they match your picture as closely as possible.
