How to Replace a Remote Starter

Remote starters can be added to your keychain for your vehicle

Remote starters can be used on most cars around the world, and these remotes can be synced to your engine in just minutes from your car. You can replace a remote that has stopped working by buying a new one to sync to your engine and programming it from your driver's seat. Once programmed, the remote can start your car from a couple hundred feet away and for up to 10 minutes at a time.

Instructions

1. Purchase a starter remote that is the same brand as the system installed in your car. Enter your car with your remote and ignition key to program the replacement.

2. Insert your key into the ignition, turn it to the "ACC" position and leave your driver's door open.

3. Press and hold the "Valet" button on your remote and wait for the car system to emit a chirping sound. Release the "Valet" button.

4. Press and hold the "Valet" button again, and press the starter button on the remote while holding the "Valet" button.

5. Wait for the locks to click again and release both buttons to end the process.
