1
Wash the car to remove dust, dirt and debris from the surface of your car's exterior. Combine a mixture of warm water and liquid detergent or special car soap in a bucket. Wash the car with a clean soft cloth or sponge, rinsing them frequently to prevent scratching the paint. If you skip this step, you run the risk of scratching your car's paint when you remove the sap.

2
Allow the car's surface to air dry.

3
Dampen a clean soft towel with mineral spirits.
-
4
Clean the area affected by the copper beech tree sap, gently rubbing in a circular motion. Don't rub the area really hard because you may damage your car's exterior paint. Wipe the area in a circular motion with a clean, dry cloth.

5
Repeat step 4 until the copper beech tree sap is gone.
-
6
Wash the car, or the areas you cleaned with the mineral spirits, with warm water and liquid detergent.
-
7
Apply car wax to your car. You can do the entire car, or only the areas where you washed it with mineral spirits.
