How to Manage Housework & Your Office Work
If you work from home it can be difficult to handle your office work and your housework at the same time. Many people who work from home have a hard time dividing their time and managing both work and caring for their home and family. It is possible to accomplish both things effectively, but it does take careful planning and possible delegation to get everything done.

1
List the tasks you need to complete for your housework each week. Make another list of tasks for your office work. Complete a list of tasks that need to be completed each day.
-
2
Divide your day into separate times for office work and housework. If you have specific hours you need to be available for office work, set aside that time to complete your office work tasks. Do not allow your housework to cut into that time.

-
3
Assign the housework tasks to other members of your family. Each family member should help to keep the home clean. Assigning tasks such as cleaning the kitchen, meal preparation and laundry will free up more time for you to complete your office work.
-
4
Create a checklist for tasks you need to complete each day. Rotating through weekly cleaning jobs each day will spread the cleaning out, or you may set aside one day a week to complete the deep cleaning jobs while you just pick up the other days.
-
5
Prioritize your tasks according to importance. Some days you may need to let the housework slide doing only the bare minimum so you can complete a project on time for work. On a light work day you may be able to accomplish more housework.
