How to Tether a Metro PCS

Certain MetroPCS phones can be tethered for use as a modem for your computer.

MetroPCS offers several phones with the ability to tether to your computer for use as a dial-up modem. You must have an Internet plan on your phone in order to tether it with MetroPCS. If your phone does have access to tethering, your ability to connect depends on if you're in a MetroPCS calling area. The steps to accessing this feature on your phone vary depending on the device.

• USB cable provided with your phone

Instructions

1. Download the modem software for your phone onto your computer. The modem software can be found on your phone manufacturer's Web page in the download section.

2. Connect one end of a USB cable to your phone. Connect the other end to an open USB slot on your computer.

3. Click and open the modem connection software on your computer. Follow the steps carefully to ensure proper installation of the remaining phone connection software. After this software installation is complete you will be ready to connect to the Internet using your phone as a modem.
