How to Use Putty for Proxy
Installing and configuring a software-based firewall and anti-virus software on network hosts helps increase electronic information privacy. However, to avoid local network eavesdropping, prevent website blocking, and also tracking your actions by IP address, information sent over a network must be protected using encryption technology that passes through a proxy. Install and configure host-based proxy software to encrypt and protect all website information sent to and from the host.
Things You'll Need

If Internet Explorer fails to connect initially, add an exception to the Windows Firewall for the same port number configured as the Source port in PuTTY.
