You can remove Gorilla Glue from Formica using warm soapy water or acetone, according to Gorilla Glue's website. According to the Gorilla Glue website, the removal process may take a little time, and they warn to be patient when attempting to remove Gorilla Glue from any surface. Formica's care guide indicates that use of acetone on their Formica laminate products will not hurt the finish.
Things You'll Need
- Warm soapy water
- Scrub brush
Choose either warm soapy water or acetone to remove Gorilla Glue from your Formica.
Soak the rag in warm soapy water and place over the Gorilla Glue to soften the glue if you choose soapy water to remove the Gorilla Glue. Leave the rag over the glue for a few minutes so the water and soap have time to soften the glue.
Rub acetone on the Gorilla Glue, if you choose acetone as your method of removal, and give the acetone a few minutes to loosen the glue from the Formica. Wipe any excess acetone away with a rag.
Use a gentle scrub brush to completely remove the Gorilla Glue. If the Gorilla Glue does not easily lift from your Formica, repeat the steps until the glue is soft and easy to remove.
Gently wipe the Formica with warm soapy water to remove traces of the soap or acetone.
