How to Turn on 3G

Save

3G gives you the option of accessing telephone service, streaming video and music and Web browsing in a variety of areas. This lets you access the Web without having to connect the device to a Wi-Fi network. Enabling 3G on the device also drains the battery the device uses. Due to this fact, 3G is likely off when you first receive the phone. 3G can be manually turned on and off whenever you wish, letting you select the exact network you want to use for the phone.

iPhone

  • Press the "Settings" app icon.

  • Choose the "General" option found on the "Settings" screen.

  • Select "Network" on the "General" screen.

  • Press the "Enable 3G" button. The button switches to "On." 3G is turned on.

Non-iPhone option 1

  • Highlight and choose the "Settings" screen on the Main Menu page.

  • Select "Wi-Fi" or "Networks." A list of available networks appears.

  • Use the device's arrows to scroll to and highlight the name of the 3G network.

  • Press "OK." 3G is turned on.

Non-iPhone option 2

  • Press the Wi-Fi/Networks icon at the top of the device's screen. A menu opens.

  • Choose the 3G network listed under the "Enable Wi-Fi/Networks" button. 3G is turned on.
