How to Remove Window Tint From Truck Windows
Window tint keeps the interior of your truck cool while protecting plastic and leather components from the damaging effects of sunlight. The original black color of the tint will fade to a shade of purple as it breaks down with exposure to sunlight. Pulling the old multilayered tint from your truck windows requires using a method to loosen the adhesive holding it to the window.

3
Press the cut garbage bag onto the wet surface of the glass. Smooth the bag with your hands until no air bubbles remain between the bag and the glass. Spread plastic sheeting across the interior of your truck to protect it from ammonia. Open any windows with tint that you are not currently working on.

4
Hold the nozzle of an ammonia-filled spray bottle 4 to 6 inches from the inside surface of the tinted window. Take and hold a deep breath. Coat the inside of the window with ammonia. Park the truck in a location with the sun shining directly on the black garbage bag. Allow the truck to sit in the sun for one to two hours.

5
Lift one corner of the loosened tint with a razor blade. Allow the truck to sit in the sun for another half hour if the corner does not with ease.
-
6
Slowly pull the tint off the truck window.
-
7
Spray glass cleaner on the tint-free window. Rub a piece of fine steel wool over any remaining tint adhesive. Wipe the window clean with a rag.
