How to Clear the Recently Watched on Netflix

Netflix's “Watch Now” feature lets you stream movies and television shows via the Internet. If you watch a video and later return to the "Watch Instantly" screen, you'll find that show in the "Recently Watched" list -- a convenience to help you re-watch a show or pick up where you left off later.

Unfortunately, while you might consider these entries distracting, you can't manually remove them from the "Watch Instantly" screen.

If you want to streamline your "Watch Instantly" screen, you can remove programs from "My List" after you watch them, though. Here's how.

    • 1

Sign into Netflix. Then, click on “Watch Instantly," which you'll find near the top of the screen.

    • 2

Position the mouse pointer over any title in the "Recently Watched" or "My List" sections. After a moment, you should see a text box fly out with additional information about the selection.

    • 3

Click "Remove from List." The selection will be removed from your "My List."

Tips & Warnings

  • Even if you click "Remove from List" on a title in "Recently Watched," the show will remain in "Recently Watched." It will only disappear from your "My List."
