An HP Mini is a small netbook computer that runs Windows. A netbook is a version of a laptop, only there is no optical drive (CD/DVD), allowing the device to be smaller than a standard laptop. The HP Mini does have several USB connections, allowing you to hook up outside equipment, including a SIM card reader. Using a SIM card reader allows you to upload information saved on your cell phone's SIM card.
Things You'll Need
- SIM card reader
Plug the SIM card reader into a USB port on the HP Mini netbook. There is a USB port on each side of the netbook, and it does not matter which connection you choose.
Slide the SIM card into the SIM card reader.
Click the "Start" button in the lower, left corner of the desktop, then choose "Computer."
Double-click the removable device icon to load a window with all the SIM information. From here you are able to copy the data to your HP Mini, or upload information to the SIM card.
