How to Restore the SiteAdvisor Tool Bar

Ever wondered if a website link produced by a search engine is safe? This is when SiteAdvisor toolbar comes into play. SiteAdvisor by McAfee is a small add-on program for the Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox Web browsers. This program places ratings icons next to the links on a search engine results page. You can also press a Web browser button on the toolbar to validate a website. SiteAdvisor also has a search box for easier online surfing. You can restore the toolbar for free since the software comes from McAfee at no charge.

  • Go to the SiteAdvisor website (see Resources), and click the "Free Download" button.

  • Click "Save" in the confirmation window, browse to your desktop and click "Save" to download the file.

  • Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation wizard, and follow its step-by-step prompts to reinstall the SiteAdvisor toolbar to your browser.
