How to Locate an eTrex Serial Number

The Garmin eTrex is a handheld personal navigator. When Garmin manufactured your eTrex, Garmin gave your unit a unique number to help identify it within a series of the same model type. You need this serial number to register your Garmin eTrex or if Garmin issues a recall of your unit. Additionally, you may need this number along with the model number to help a Garmin customer service or technical representative troubleshoot or repair your unit.

Instructions

1. Turn off your Garmin eTrex handheld navigation unit.

2. Turn the D-ring on the battery compartment cover on the back of your unit a quarter turn counterclockwise to unlock the cover. Remove the battery cover.

3. Retrieve the number from inside the compartment.

Tips & Warnings

• If you kept your eTrex packaging, you can also typically find the the serial number on the outside of the box.
